Lizard Leader heads for the desert... Joshua Tree

After three weeks in the desert the Head Lizard returned with grand stories of other lizard brothers and sisters (real ones!), rocks, and lots of sand. The pictures below are proof enough for the unbeliever that the desert is a wonderous place.

Three weeks in the Joshua Tree area... the head Lizard was working the night shift at his techno weenie job at Twenty-nine Palms, which resulted in lots of day hikes into the local desert. White Tank, Hidden Valley, and other beautiful spots were a daily occurance.

But this was not a typical Lizard "hike to you drop" adventure. Through the kindness of strangers, the Head Lizard found the Tower Homestead... one of the finest bed and breakfasts in the area (619 367-7936). From the "purple glass" rock garden (ask Dona, the owner, to tell you the story),

To the covered patio where breakfast is served, the 160 acre Homestead was a rustic treat. If you stop by, tell Dona that you were sent by the Head Lizard!

Two living rooms, spa, fire places, kitchen...

But back to the desert... the flowers were in bloom...

And there was plenty of exploring to do at the Lost Horse Mine.

See ya next Lizard adventure!
